Brett Siegel published an article that had some interesting information about the Los Angeles Lakers it had some stuff that talked about a potential lakers and pacers trade, it so first of all it looks like the lakers are willing to trade their 2027 and 2029 first round picks, if it presents a clear path to increasing their immediate championship odds and the lakers are still exploring the possibility of trading Russell Westbrook if they can add some players who can help them compete for a championship now when talking about myles turner and buddy hield there have been rumors surrounding them in the Los Angeles Lakers for quite some time now.
It looks like the Indiana Pacers have yet to show a willingness to heavily engage in trade conversations with the lakers due to the lakers inability to offer valuable future assets to Indiana they have those 2027 and 2029 picks but maybe that's just not enough, maybe it's just that the lakers aren't willing to give up both of their future first round picks to the Indiana Pacers in a potential trade but regardless maybe the lakers if they're really motivated to get a trade done would be willing to trade austin Rivers but it's been reported that austin Rivers is having a good off season I'm not sure if the lakers would want to do that austin Rivers had a good rookie season in Lakers we could see quite a bit of improvement going into his second year but if the lakers could get a trade like the one on screen done.
I think it would be a great trade for them trading away Russell Westbrook and Wenyen Gabriel along with two future first round picks to add myles turner and buddy hield i feel like would immediately help the lakers when it comes to their pursuit of a nba championship myles turner and buddy hield are role players who fit incredibly well with this lakers team.
In my opinion you add shooting you add shot blocking it's really just a great trade overall and i think that turner will help the lakers rebuild their defensive identity after a tough defensive year if he were to be traded to the lakers so that's why i really like this move if i'm Lakers, we'll have to see if the lakers can get that type of trade done or if they have to look towards other options potentially like bringing Russell Westbrook back.
Maybe the lakers decide we're just going to run it back, i mean one thing i can say about this year's lakers is i think that they will at least have better depth than the lakers did last year but I'm just not sure if that's going to be enough and it will move the needle for them when it comes to competing for a championship because last year they missed out on the play and tournament altogether but one of the lakers off-season additions who I'm really excited about is Thomas Bryant i think he's going to have a really good year in lakers.
